He did his Mechanical Engineering from Engineering Council (London) and has a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Electrical Engineering and Master\u2019s degree in Business Administration (MBA).<br \/>\nHe started his career in 1986 at Western Railway and over the last 35 years has worked at a number of important posts in Indian Railways. Prior to his posting as GM\/SECR, he was working as Additional General Manager, Western Railway. As Chief Administrative Officer, Raebareli, he headed the team that pioneered implementation of Industry 4.0 in Indian Railway workshops. He was Divisional Railway Manager, Bhopal from 2015-2017 and prior to that, in his tenure at Container Corporation of India, was instrumental in getting state of art port cranes at dry ports across India.<br \/>\nHe has been trained in various facets of advanced management at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh; SDA Bocconi, Milan; APEC, Antwerp; IIM, Ahmedabad and ISB, Hyderabad.
